Cheesy Taco Noodle Skillet combines two family favorites—noodles and tacos—for a quick, easy one-dish skillet recipe full of flavor.

  • Prep: 5 mins
  • Cook: 20 mins
  • Yields: 6 Servings

Ingredients

1 pound ground round

1 onion, chopped

1 package (1 1/4 ounce) taco seasoning

2 cups water

12 ounces Golden Grain® Fine Egg Noodles

1 jar (24 ounces) spaghetti sauce

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Optional toppings: Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and sour cream

Directions

1In a large non-stick skillet, cook ground round and onions over medium-high heat until meat is cooked through and onions are golden brown. Drain off fat and return meat to the skillet.

2Add water, taco seasoning, and dry noodles to skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, for about three minutes.

3Add spaghetti sauce to skillet and continue cooking for about four minutes, stirring frequently.

4Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese and other desired taco toppings.

I was craving an easy pasta dish so I tried this but used a lite alfredo sauce and a chopped tomato and basil. It was awesome. I’ll try it as written next time.

Spaghetti sauce??!
With taco seasoning?
Seriously?
Ughhh. 🙁
I don’t think so.
Use red enchilada sauce instead.
And throw a small jar of mild salsa into the mix.
And a small can of sliced olives.
And some chopped cilantro..
NOW you’ve got it!
Still super-easy, but WAY better.
🙂
