Italian Skillet Lasagna

Golden Grain Lasagna

Ingredients
  • 10 Golden Grain Lasagna strips, broken into 1-inch pieces (1/2 box)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 jar (24 oz) pasta sauce
  • 1 cup cottage cheese or ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese
Directions
  1. Cook ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until meat is cooked and no longer pink. (If using higher fat ground beef you may want to drain.)
  2. Add water, pasta sauce and uncooked lasagna pieces. Cover and bring to a simmer. Maintain a simmer over medium-low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  3. Dollop cottage cheese by spoonfuls over pasta mixture. Sprinkle shredded cheese over all. Remove from heat; cover and allow to stand 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
